Choosing Songs Was Hard Part Of KORN's 'Unplugged' Taping

February 21, 2007

Launch Radio Networks reports: KORN's taping of "MTV Unplugged" will debut online this Friday (February 23),capturing the hard-rocking band's first full-length acoustic performance. Singer Jonathan Davis told Launch that one of the most challenging aspects of the show was figuring out which KORN songs would work well in that style. "It was hard," he said. "It's like, we had to pick the songs that we thought were good acoustic. We tried a lot of songs out. Some weren't great, some were great. We have a lot of albums, so we had to pick songs off each album. It was difficult, but not that bad. We all chose songs that we wanted to do. We tried 'em, if they worked, good, and it ended up being in the set list."

KORN's "Unplugged" show will premiere on MTV on March 2, with a CD arriving on March 6. Guests include members of THE CURE as well as EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee.

The band will make its first appearance ever on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Thursday, March 1.

KORN is currently recording its eighth studio album and plans to release it this summer. Veteran rock drummer Terry Bozzio is filling in for original KORN drummer David Silveria, who is taking a hiatus from the group.
